June 1th, 2011, during the II eMadrid Workshop on e-Learning, was announced the result of the ATOS-Origin - eMadrid 2011 Awards. The winner has been Jorge Fernández, who developed LibreSoft Gymkhana. LibreSoft Gymkhana will take part in the II eMadrid Workshop on e-Learning. Specifically, LibreSoft Gymkhana has programmed a interactive workshop that will show how you can create, monitorize and manage a mobile gymkhana for Android smartphones through a web interface, all of this fastly and easily. This workshop will be celebrated next Wednesday, 1st June 2011, from 16:00 to 17:30. Besides, Thursday 2nd June 2011, from 15:00 to 16:00, LibreSoft Gymkhana will be presented as the winner project of the premio Madrid On Rails - eMadrid 2011 award.

Last Friday May 6th, 2011, during the seminario of eMadrid on "Free Software and Education", was announced the result of the Madrid On Rails - eMadrid 2011 Awards. We have celebrated the LibreSoft Gymkhana's release party. A set of twenty persons (professors and researchers), besides eating some scones, played a mobile gymkhana related to open source software.
The following April, 4th 2011 in Amman (Jordan), LibreSoft Gymkhana will be presented in the IEEE EDUCON 2011, thank you to the article ("Implementing Gymkhanas with Android Smartphones: a Multimedia M-Learning Game") that you can consult here. This conference is the second of a series within IEEE Region 8. It will provide an interdisciplinary forum for academic, research and industrial collaboration in engineering education by presenting newset research results and practical show cases. In this it aims to bridge the gap between pure academic research and real world experiences. The theme of this second EDUCON2011 conference will be "Learning Environments and Ecosystems in Engineering Education". It will hosted by Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman, Jordan, in the period 04-06 April 2011.
It's a pleasure inform you that LibreSoft Gymkhana release 1.0 is now available in the Android Market. LibreSoft Gymkhana is an open source educational and geolocated game related to M-Learning & Tourism applications. It is based on the LibreGeoSocial mobile social network application, which includes a mobile augmented reality interface. Thanks to LibreSoft Gymkhana you will be able to organize and manage a mobile gymkana (m-gymkhana) with several types of challenges for the participants, using Android smartphones (new generation gymkhanas) easily and without effort.
LibreSoft Gymkhana is a project under the umbrella of the eMadrid project, and it has been successfully used in several events organized by Comunidad de Madrid: "The Researchers' Night 2010" (a Europe-wide event bringing together the public at large and researchers) and "X Science Week" are only some examples.
